Not only have they toured the god damn world already, theyre about to finally release their long-awaited record.

My buddy from Interscope sent me over the new Chester Frech record along with some other goodies and let me say…this record is tooooo nasty. The albums drops next week and its titled “Love The Future” - for now get a sneak peak at the lead track off the album. Titled “C’Mon (On My Own)”

DIRT MERCHANTS: SHOW ME THE WAY.
Northern California artists to shake the game up with the first installment of long awaited new music.

Los Angeles, CA. (Januay 12th, 2009) - New year, new music. Deviating from the standard new years resolutions to lose weight and quit smoking that traditionally take place in the first month of the year, the Dirt Merchants have a loftier goal: provide listeners a breath of fresh air. The release of their long anticipated mixtape “Show Me The Way” will do just that.

Dirt Merchants “Show Me The Way” mixtape will be available for free download at http://www.dirtmerchants.com starting on Monday, January 12th, 2009.

Having attracted a cult like following of music fans from all genres the Dirt Merchants will give listeners exactly what they have been demanding for the past 3 + years – new music. An ode to mid nineties hip hop “Show Me The Way” takes listeners on a brisk jog through timeless classics, beefed up for 2009.

Rhyming over heavyweights such as DJ Premiere is no easy task and not one the Dirt Merchants have taken lightly. “We understand what we’re doing, this music is what turned us onto hip hop – and we want to give listeners a chance to hear our take on such classic beats” says Madix, Dirt Merchants MC. “This is serious, once people hear what we’re doing, they’ll get it”

Tackling issues from the housing crisis to house parties - No topic is off limits for the Dirt Merchants. The mixtapes titled track “Show Me The Way” is a unique perspective on a classic, late 60s rock song. Bennett creates the modern day Jim Morrison perfectly - flipping “The Doors” track to craft an instant pub crawl anthem.

“Who’s Jim Morrison?” Silas chuckles. “Getting a chance to lace that beat was crazy – we’re merging genres”

To say this release is just another “hip hop mixtape” is an extreme understatement. The creative take on such classic music is an exciting preview of what the Dirt Merchants are capable of.

Dirt Merchants will release a 5 track EP March 2009, followed by their second full length album and a west coast tour in summer 2009.
