Hey there little fella…. so i’ve been hanging most of the day - went skating around Venice, got some food, people watched, did some reading, did some iChatting with Jahan (who happens to be in canada with Dirty Penny), did some eBay searching, looked at some apartments, and now I just recently caught myself doing two things. Two things that are good, well good and bad. I’m not one to live in the past - so part of me doesn’t like to dwell too much on the past…but I think there is a difference between reminiscing and dwelling - right? good, glad you agree.

Anyways, I was looking on youtube and had an epiphany - we’re involved in some fun shit. Some real fun shit. SO heres a video overview of some dope stuff I have been a part of over the past two years. Both old (Chico) and new (USA). Take a look in all it’s glory.

We’ll start with the new -
Red Bull Riders Cup: currently i’m managing a surf project titled Red Bull Riders Cup, it is a national high school surf contest. it is really dope and is currently being filmed for a show that will go to MTV later this year, a reality show, think - The Hills meets Southern California surfer boys - heres the trailer.

Red Bull Manny Mania: a 15 stop Amateur skate contest that will continue into 2009, from the brain of Joey Brezinski, this shit is hype. This is the video of the pro form 2007, think, the same contest on steroids with 15+ stops it all starts June 7th. Come visit your boy in a city near you.

Red Bull Snow Warz: I hung with a decent amount of you a few weeks back in Mammoth - shit popped off. All in all a great event, stoked I was able to be a part of it - peep the recap video.

Theres plenty more where that came from but thats quick taste of what my lfie has consisted of over the past few weeks - and heres the old…

I had the raddest time the 5 years I spent in CHICO it shaped me to be who I am today and the experiences I gained from there will stick with me until my dying days. Here are a few dope things we (my friends and I) did while in college…

Street rail destruction: rail jam in a place that never gets snow, jeahh jeahh

Diamonds are forever: lets get a bunch of girls, booze and throw a party in the most exclusive flat in town….to be honest, we’re lucky we didnt go to jail for this one..

Beer Pong Mockumentary: Beer Pong - what else can we say? Then we made a mockumentary about it??? shiiiit son.

New Year. No Limits.

no time. lots of stuff to do today, but i figured i would let you all in on a little secret before i get my hustle on. if you didn’t know, red bull has created a lot of stuff - air race, flugtag, big tune etc etc etc. but what is new and rad? the new word on the block is they created a record label: Red Bull Records; it is the whole deal, huge studio in LA, great staff and it looks like (as of very recently) great artists to accompany it. So for now, enjoy, Black Gold, Red Bull Records first signed artist - oh and did I mention, they are DOPE. holla back youngin skeet skeet.

I am moving to Santa Monica tommorow.

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

You read it correctly, just like the title says, i am moving to Santa Monica tommorow. It is kind of crazy when I think back on the events that led up to this event. I have been trying to keep this space (blog) for mainly fact-based shit and not get all personal like a fairy with a diary so I will keep this short.

Chico State treated me like a god damn king, really, that town was too good to me. I was recently asked by someone if I would go back and do the college thing all over again, you know, be 18 again and go back to the dorms, experience all the madness again. Let me tell you, it was one hell of a ride and I wouldn’t change a thing, which is exactly why I had to say “no i wouldnt do it all over again”. I mean, I would love to, but what if i got dealt a shittier hand? Like say, I didn’t meet the good life-long friends I made (some of which are on this blog), I didn’t meet lacey, I didn’t get the collegiate job for Red Bull, I didn’t pick up a minor in marketing…I mean I feel like my college career was so damn good to me it’s insane. And now it is time to move on, which is going to be so fuckin rad, I am stoked as hell.

I recently got a new job at Red Bull, my title is National Events Marketing Coordinator, essentially (from what I can predict) I will be working in events marketing, under sports marketing, helping to support the entire events department. I am really stoked on the people I will be working with, Mater, Esther and Mateus (you probably don’t know any of them) but they are all great extremely intelligent minds. I plan to learn a lot from each of them as their experience far outweighs mine. I will be living in sunny santa monica and working about 2 miles from the beach. I still need to find permanent housing and roommates (hint: keep your ears open idiots). If anyone ever wants to come check out Red Bull HQ just hit me up, for real, most of you guys have my phone #, if not e-mail me. The place is sick, has a gym, gaming rooms, a skate ramp all kinds of dope shit.

So to conclude, this blog (sundaynevercomes.com) is going to serve much more of a purpose than I first realized. It is going to keep all my homies, new and old, connected. So cheers to riley’s, frankies, the 420 house, sororistitutes, the chico snow club, the synthesis, the gutter club, sutter st. and the entire crew…..let’s make these next 5 years more epic than the last 5. peace! brandon.

Who’s coming with me man??

Friday, August 1st, 2008

So I am now finally in the swing of things in the working world, and let me tell you it is very tedious. I always look forward to whatever precious free time I have and savor it. Anyways, I have been covering some stories dealing with hip hop and its counterparts; and have come across an event that I am really psyched about. It is known as the red-bull bc one competition.

The best 16 bboys in the world are invited to compete in one arena. The video footage of these dancers is like nothing I have ever seen before. Some of the most amazing body contortions I have ever witnessed. Check out the video. It’s a little long but worth it.

This year it is being held in Paris in November (rumored to be right under the Eiffel Tower); so I am quite interested in attending the festivities. I have been thinking about an escape from work and have enough PTO to take time off.

Now the only question left is, who’s coming with me??

i am a real writer now. limo’s, red bull and skateboarding.

Friday, July 25th, 2008

hi. for those of you that don’t know, our good friend and resident radtacular awesome dude, jonothan carrabba (aka Jono) co-owns and operates a magazine called Submerge in sacramento. It is a free bi-weekly print magazine that covers all the rad shit going on in sac and the circulation (distribution) is pretty damn extensive. I am lucky enough (obviously) to be involved in rad shit that goes down in sac. so I was able to write a small little blurb/story about skateboarding in a limo with cool people that they ended up running. pick up a free copy if youre in the 916 and peep your homie in action. here it is in full.

No Skating Allowed

There I was, chillin, maxxin’ out, “lurkin hard” in a limo, drinking a Red
Bull Vodka, on my way with the Red Bull Sacramento Crew to swoop up some of the nastiest local skateboarders in the 916. I knew it was going to be ill, I mean shit we’re in a limo, so I sat back and waited for the madness to ensue.

We pull up to the old Flatspot skate shop downtown to see a dozen or so sweating kids skating flat ground awaiting our arrival. The Limo driver, we’ll call him Dan, gets out of his driver seat and opens the door allowing everyone in. First things first – “beer me” someone exclaims as an ice cold one gets tossed into his hands. “Do you have any CDs” I reply to the dude clutching the beer and almost before I’m finished I get a sarcastic reply “yeah…….see deeze nuts!” I should’ve known not to give him such a golden opportunity. After a few quick laughs we all saddle up, cameras and lights chillin in the back, and head over to the first spot; granite skatepark off power inn. Although there was nothing illegal about skating the biggest park in all of Northern Cali - our crew just needed to warm up and get their bones loose on their home turf.

So we pull up to Granite like straight pimp’s, believe that, we are ballin right now. Everyone piles out of the Limo to skate the park and immediately everything is getting destroyed. These skateboarders are killing this park, literally, name a trick and it was laced. After about an hour of the park, a few flip tricks over the double set courtesy of Kyle Duval, and stenciling all the local groms decks (redbullskateboarding.com) – we jump back in the fly mobile (Dan’s Limo) and head to some gnarly 11 stair at a school in Fair Oaks, CA.

We pull up to this handrail and it is pitch black. As soon as Dannie Boy let’s us out, I realize we are in the fuckin suburbs somewhere and we’re being mad loud. I gave it 15 minutes before the cops show up, this in mind we quickly set up the lights, and they get to work. A few warm up ollies and things start getting dope. This little man, Blue Turner, is destroying it – backside smith grinds like it’s his day Job. Then next thing you know Rob Mason barrels through and starts trying to backlip the damn thing. It was dope, the Lurk Hard homies were representing.

After another hour or so session, we jump back in the Limo and head over to Ink in Mid-Town for some grub and drinks. It is around 11:00 when we arrive; we pile out of the limo and head inside to eat. An hour or two later, a few drinks, and a chunky meal we’re ready to peace out. All in all, the night was an unforgettable experience. Big ups to Armain Austin, everyone at Red Bull, Lurk Hard, and everyone who was along for the ride….thanks for a dope evening!
