Dirty Penny: Ohhhh shit, get ready for album two.

Friday, June 12th, 2009

Recently we had a brief encounter with our favorite rock & roll band; Dirty Penny. Dirty Penny, if you’re un familiar, is this generations saving grace for rock & roll, all midm-twenties these guys are set to blow in the near future. It also helps a bit that they’re managed by Fourteen 39 (you all know who that is..) so, long story short, The guys were in Sacramento shooting photos with Joint Medias for their upcoming album and re-launch of the website. Check out a few and stay tuned for their new album coming this september..

here we go

The Fray - Heartless Cover - and more.

I am feeling this song right now. Check it out:

Heartless - Cover - The Fray

I bought a flipcam today so I will be posting videos which I am stoked on. I just got back from Santa Barbara where Jahan and I had a meeting with Dirty Penny on their next album release and kicked it with the crew during their show Friday night. We had a good, dope crew kicking it, Eddie from theradreport.com, Jahan, Myself, Max Hodges from TMZ and, of course, dirty penny - we did some day drinking saturday and then went to this festival deal in Santa Barbara where the rebelution boys played, caught the cool kids set and ludacris. We the proceeded to shut down the marley house in Santa barbara on del playa - i think i drank enough for a month….but it was well worth it

all in all, a great weekend. I am way stoked on this flip cam, stay tuned for some videos moving forward! Off to Chico this weekend, whos coming with me?

its wednesday you need something new on your iPOD

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

here at sundaynevercomes we pride ourselves on our eclectic music taste. I have been guilty the last few days of hitting repeat one too many times on my iPOD. Ive been listening to a lot of the new alkaline trio disc, no use for a name greatest hits, old daft punk, and muse albums lately.

P.S. if you dont know who one of those artists are you have been living under a rock for the last 10 years.

So today since Folsom is so god damn boring i decided to take a nice long walk throw the pod on shuffle and just enjoy. Which got me to writing this post….heres some bands i think you should take a gander at because their all doing some progressive shit in their respective genres:

UVR - http://www.myspace.com/uvr
Heres one of my favorites since high school…these guys are keeping the bubble gum pop punk genre alive and kicking, after a few line up changes the guys just dropped a new disc. The fellas blew up in France a few years ago but seem to never have caught on here in the states nationally. check em.

Ted Leo and The Pharmacists - www.myspace.com/tedleo
What can i say about Ted Leo in one word: RELENTLESS. This guy continues to churn out great records and still say credible. He’s one artist on the list I NEED to see live. His music is politically charged alt rock/punk shit with really catchy hooks. He tours constantly and just got done playing some shows with Eddie Vedder (instant credibility)

Dirty Penny - http://www.myspace.com/dirtypennysucks
Sometimes you just got to turn the volume up, drink a beer and rock out. Dirty Penny delivers every time on the factor of just rocking out. These guys are bringing back the 80s metal music. Heres a flick from Lake Tahoe at Red Bull Snow Warz from earlier this year, this video actually won an award for best editing up at the Chico Smash Awards. Look for some cameos from some familiar faces.

Bob Sinclar - http://www.myspace.com/bobsinclar
Now if your reading this and your from outside the US your probably going i know Bob Sinclar and i applaud you. This guy turns out WORLD WIDE MEGA HITS! His songs were played more often than Justin Timberlake tracks when i was over in Israel. He had the theme song to the last World Cup with his song Love Generation and even put an album out that was recorded at the Playboy Mansion. If i ever win the lotto hes playing my party. hands down. His songs just make you want to get up and dance. Check out World Hold On and Soundz of Freedom.
