if your looking for something to do on new years come spend it with Sunday Never Comes. As many of you have read a few posts below this one that Brandon will be in Las Vegas for Red Bull NO LIMITS. What an awesome event they got planned. Here in California I will be holding it down in Santa Cruz working @ The Catalyst on Dec 30 and 31. Come join me.
The election has finally ended! As I’m sure all of you know by now, Barack Obama is the President Elect! Hopefully everyone got out and voted today. Time for Change SNC readers!
According to the Denver Backbeat:
The Obama campaign just announced that singer-songwriter Ben Harper will play “a few songs” at a rally in Civic Center Park on Saturday, to encourage people to vote for Barack Obama. Opening odds that someone shouts out “Burn One Down” at a highly inappropriate time: 1:5.
(Obama won’t be there Saturday, but he will be in that park for a rally on Sunday).
Harper will perform at noon. The rally will run from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m., after which everyone will go home, pop in Fight For Your Mind, smoke a bowl and forget everything that was said. God Bless America.
Ben Harper is the shit and i am stoked to be in town the day he is set to play an Obama Rally even if I am not able to attend. Gothic Theatre tomorrow night in Denver.
I was hoping I would get to write this post. My Tampa Bay Rays have beaten the God forSaken Boston Red Sox and are headed to the World Series! Bunch of young talent prevails over the fat payroll of the Bo Sox… Bahahaha. Next up are the Philadelphia Phillies. Watch out MLB the Rays are for F’in Real!
thought i would drop everyone a line. My lack of contribution to this site probably has been visible. Based on the sheer fact that my life can be broken down into a constant tour book. Life on the road has left very little time to catch up on events that are shaping the political, economic, and social issues. I have gotten though an amazing opportunity to travel this country and have enjoyed almost every minute of it. We are a little over the half way point and their are still over 20 shows to play. Road Zombie status has been achieved and my spirit was certainly broken in Towson, MD. Looking forward to what this last month of tour holds and what doors open up in the near future. See you all soon as we make our way back to the West Coast.
Volcom is offering $10,000 to the first person that can land a “proper” kickflip while surfing By proper they mean an “above the lip” kickflip where first you launch an air, use your front foot to flip the board, and then land on it and ride out cleanly. No backwash, no fingerflips, no grabs, no laybacks. Just a proper kickflip.
this past week has been a rollercoaster of emotions for myself and everyone who knew Bobby. Being 3000 miles away from the people i care about has been really difficult and everyone on tour has done their best to understand and lift my spirits. Since finding out the news in New Orleans the guys have been playing a song for me every night that has taken on a whole new meaning for myself since this tragedy. Sometimes i feel selfish for being out at clubs trying to slang merch, take shots, and meet girls but then i remind myself Bobby is watching over me and happy to see me doing what im doing. The song has tugged on all the emotions i have been going through: the bond that i shared not only with Bobby but the rest of our close circle of friends in Chico and how much we care about each other. It brings a smile to my face but also reminds me of what we have all lost. The song is called Die For You, here are the lyrics:
I’m never so sure of anything at all
But one thing I can count on
A friend is good when
your backs against the wall
And I’ve know them for so long
If I never saw the light of tomorrow
I would hold no regrets
I wouldn’t want any sadness or sorrow
This is as good as it gets
I live for you, you live for me
You know I’d die for you
And I know you do the same
After all that we’ve been through
In life’s messed up games
If I never breathed again
I wouldn’t change a thing
You know I die for you
And I know you feel the same
All thoughs times that I
knew that I was wrong
And the worlds pushing me down
And all the times that thought I cant go on
They picked me off of the cold ground
I can’t explain what they all mean to me
To them I’m in debt
Its not just friend it’s a family
And that you can not forget
I live for you, you live for me
I’m thankful and grateful
In this life that I’m able
To find a family other than my own
And to get through this life
and not to do it on my own
And if I never breath again I wouldn’t change a thing
You know I live for you
i have learned this first hand over the past 10 days on tour. The most scandolous slutty girls are the ones have boyfriends. Its hilarious. Life on the road so far has surpassed all my expectations and thoughts that i had about what life really is like on the road.
oh and i have learned to master the wet wipe shower. More to come folks!
