I came across this documentary like a year or two ago on one of the independent film channels and it grabbed my attention. Today I came across it again because turntable lab got it in stock so they sent me an email to let me know the new stuff they got in. I found the film online in it’s entirety and watched it. It is extremely heavy; and goes to show you how bad things can get, and how strong human beings can become to overcome feats in their lives. I don’t know how some of these people go on living from day to day, but i commend them. The Film is appropriately called “Dark Days”. Check out the trailer, and here’s a link to the whole film.
Yo, my roommate just showed me this video of Bob Sapp the fighter. I have never seen this guy and if you haven’t I highly recommend that you check this out.
For those of you that did not see the DNC last night and missed Bill Clinton’s speech… it was rad. A definite must see. Also Barack strait killed it earlier tonight with a verbal assault on John McCain and his campaign. I think that no matter what your party affiliation is if you weren’t impressed by these speeches then you just have no intellect. Period. Check out the video and tell me what you think then. Barack’s speech isn’t up yet but I will have it here as soon as it is.
Comcast just announced that as of Oct.1 you will only be allowed 250 GB of bandwith for a month for residential users. Some straight bull shit. Why pay 45 dollars a month if i cant download 1/4 of a terabyte worth a porn of month when their is so much out there. COME ON GUY!
The cognitive surplus……Trust me, it is worth your time. it is pretty long, around 30 minutes, but when you have the time, watch it, it won’t let you down.
Yes, it is true. That glorious time of year when we get both College and NFL Football. For me it doesnt get much better than a Sunday full of Football Bar-b-q and beer, and I am stoked to get those Sundays back. Also College Football, often times more exciting than NFL is back on Saturdays… so with that on Saturday and NFL on Sunday, I am booked on the weekends from here on out. Good luck in your fantasy leagues (unless you are in mine), and good luck to your teams. Oh yea…. Go Broncos!
So check it, after being up at Burney Falls for like 4 amazing lake and drinking filled days, we cruised down to Chico to kick it with Jahann or Johan or how ever he spells it. What I’m about to talk about will be more for those of you in Florida as I would imagine most everyone right around here knows what I am talking about. I’m talking about The Expendables. I knew my buddy works for them and has told me how legit their shit is but when I was there on Saturday night and saw them for the first time… Well it turns out he wasn’t lying, they are legit. Check them out, it’s like a Reggae-Party-Punk sound that allowes them to have songs that rock a mosh pit and songs that are hella chill. It was rad to see what looked to be about 1000 people knowing every word to every song they sang. So if you are in Florida or somewhere else and don’t know them, you better ask somebody and check them out (they are going on tour starting next month).
After the show the streets of Chico were absolutely jam packed with students and non partying like crazy, hit a few house parties and a few bars and a few games of beer pong later it was a 5 am affair that included a drive through visit in a cab. All in all a good F’ing time….
not too many thoughts of the democratic national convention but will be watching closely. being such an important political week i recently heard a great politically charged track by Big Boi featuring Mary J. Blige. I believe that our generation of our artists are scared to make political statements because the backlash they may have to endure from fans….gone are the days of neil young and bruce springstein.
BMW is doing amazing things these days. With Oil issues and the likes, it seems like everyone is coming out with some kind of concept car, or fuel efficient car, or whatever. BMW’s thought process seems to be taking a little bit of a different direction. The BMW Gina is the first car ever with it’s own skin! Yes, you heard right this car has skin with elastic properties to remain taught against the car’s skeleton. Even cooler is that the underbody has hydraulics which allow the car to take different shapes if wanted. Anyways, check it out for yourself.
Norm MacDonald is a funny motherfucker. I wish they would still give him some movie roles. In case you didn’t see the Roast of Bob Sagat, you missed a classic act of comedy and Norm Macdonald at his best. Instead of getting up and easily telling the dirtiest jokes possible like everyone else, Norm caught everyone off guard and stuck to a set of outdated G rated jokes. His set was unexpected and ridiculous and although the audience didn’t really get it, you can tell how great this was by the other comedians reactions. I’m posting the video of his set at the roast and a classic norm macdonald appearence on conan for any doubters of Norm’s awesomeness. Enjoy.
